As a self-proclaimed smoothie lover, I have tried a lot of smoothies. I love experimenting with different additions to make smoothies that are yummy and sweet, hearty and nutritious, or all of the above.

Of all the different fruit smoothies I’ve tried, mango smoothies are always at the top of the list. The recipe I’m sharing today is the best mango smoothie recipe without yogurt. I can’t get enough!

How to Make a Mango Smoothie without Yogurt

1. Add frozen mango, a banana, orange juice, and full-fat coconut milk into a high-speed blender.

2. Blend the ingredients on high until well-blended and smooth.

3. Pour your simple mango smoothie into a glass and enjoy!

By using coconut milk and a banana, we are able to give this smoothie a creamier texture without any yogurt.

If you prefer thick smoothies, add ice cubes or extra frozen fruit until you reach your desired consistency. You can also use a frozen banana instead of a fresh one to make it thicker.

For a thinner smoothie, add extra coconut milk, regular milk, coconut water, or orange juice until it’s as thin as you like.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use fresh mango?

Yes, you can, but it will make your smoothie much thinner. If you want to use fresh mango but maintain the consistency, use a frozen banana and/or ice cubes to thicken it up.

How can I freeze my own mango?

Absolutely! Freezing your own mango when it’s peak mango season is a great way to have the most delicious smoothies all year round.

To freeze your fresh fruit, cut it up into cubes and spread them out on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Freeze the mango for several hours before transferring it into a freezer bag or airtight container for long-term storage.

Freezing the mango on a baking sheet first prevents the mango chunks from sticking and freezing into one giant block.

Can I add yogurt to this recipe?

Of course! If you prefer yogurt in your smoothies, you can substitute it for a portion of (or all of) the coconut milk. I recommend using full-fat Greek yogurt and opting for plain (unflavored).

Mango Smoothie Variations

Make it a mango strawberry smoothie: Substitute frozen or fresh strawberries for half of the mango. Or try this strawberry banana smoothie without yogurt!

Add some protein: Add a scoop of your favorite protein powder to make this smoothie extra filling.

Add some tartness: Add some fresh lime juice or lemon juice to give your smoothie a pop of flavor.

Make it green: One of the best ways to get your greens in for the day is by adding a couple handfuls of fresh or frozen spinach. Kale is also a great addition!

Equipment

All you need for this recipe is a blender. It’s just that easy! I use a basic blender like this one, but a high-speed blender works best for thick smoothies or smoothie bowls.
